About

The modern Suyamvaram.

In the old Suyamvaram, a bride met her suitors in one hall and chose for herself. We kept that idea and rebuilt it for Gen Z in Atlanta: one room, real people, your choice.

Why we exist

Because "any good news?" deserves a better answer than an app.

We grew up between two worlds: a tradition that trusts families and a generation that trusts its own gut. RizzVaram is the room where both are welcome. Paati-approved, Ajji-approved, Nanamma-approved, Ammumma-approved. Rizz-approved.

Who it is for

South Indian, 19 to 29, in America, serious about marriage.

Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tulu and Konkani families. Born here, raised here or arrived recently. All of you.

Why RizzVaram

Finding the right match in America is harder than the SAT.

You are South Indian, 19 to 29, in a country of 330 million people, and the handful who get your family, your food and your future are scattered across five time zones. The apps were never built for that. Neither was the aunty network.

1

The pool is tiny

In Atlanta alone, maybe a few thousand South Indian singles in your age range. On Hinge they are mixed into millions. You could swipe for a year and never see them.

2

Two worlds, one person

You want someone who can do a Friday pooja and a Saturday tailgate. Apps match on photos. Parents match on jathakam. Nobody matches on that.

3

Nobody taught us how

No prom, no dating in high school, straight to "when are you getting married?" at 24. We were handed the finals with no syllabus.

Real life

Awkward situations we have all survived.

Each one is a real story from a real Atlanta desi. Names changed, cringe preserved. The fix on the right is what RizzVaram does differently.

The bar

"Hi… do you like biryani?"

Three cold brews of courage, one opener, and she was vegan. Also that was her brother next to her.

RizzVaram fix: question cards on every table. You never need an opener again.

College

Left on read since syllabus week

One "hey" on GroupMe. Read Thursday. Then you see her at Tech Square every day for four years.

RizzVaram fix: six-minute tables, then the bell rings. No text thread to die in.

The mela

Six feet apart, both wanted to talk

Two hundred people, forty aunties watching, and the one person you liked stood near the chaat stall all night. Neither of you moved.

RizzVaram fix: a host seats you across from each other. Moving is not your job.

The aunty network

"Whose son is that?"

You said hello to a girl at a wedding. By Monday three families in Alpharetta had an opinion.

RizzVaram fix: no parents, no cousins, no forwards. What happens in the room stays in the room until you both say yes.

The app

847 swipes, zero who call their Amma

"6'2, entrepreneur" had four roommates and a crypto portfolio. Every DM said "hey".

RizzVaram fix: everyone in the room is verified by ID, LinkedIn and work email before they sit down.

Pelli choopulu

"So… cooking? Jathakam? Why MBA?"

She runs a team of twelve. She was asked to carry a snack tray and smile while an uncle reviewed her like a resume.

RizzVaram fix: you meet as equals, across a table, with coffee. Families come in only when you invite them.

The ghost

Three great dates, then nothing

He said "let’s do this again" and then evaporated. You still do not know why.

RizzVaram fix: a close-out round after every room. Everybody marks yes or no within 24 hours. Nobody is left on read.

The filter

"Only 6 feet and above, only doctors"

Her Amma set the filters. The one guy who would have been perfect was 5'9 and a product designer.

RizzVaram fix: no height, no salary, no profession filters. You are matched on your eight picks and nothing else.

OPT and CPT

"Let me get through this extension first"

Stuck with one employer, one deadline, one more form. Every plan on hold, including the one about actually meeting someone.

RizzVaram fix: a room full of people in the same boat who get the timeline without an explanation. You apply once, you show up, you vibe. Nothing else to manage.

The India trip

Two weeks, eleven families, zero vibe

Flights, jet lag, a different living room every evening, and a decision expected before the return flight.

RizzVaram fix: no need to fly to India to find a match. The right person is probably in Atlanta already. We find them. You meet over coffee, not over a 14-hour flight.

The horoscope loop

"Nine out of ten poruthams, but Mars is in the wrong house"

Three profiles rejected before anyone said hello. Not because of the person. Because of a chart.

RizzVaram fix: no endless horoscope matching. We find the match, you vibe and see if it works. Jathakam only if both of you ask for it later.

The virtual trap

Six weeks of texting, one awkward coffee

You knew his favorite movie, his gym split and his cousin’s dog’s name. You did not know he never looks up from his phone.

RizzVaram fix: all in real life, nothing virtual. No app, no chat, no video calls. First contact is across a table, where you can tell in six minutes.

What we promise

We find the match. You just vibe.

No India trip

Your match is here. Atlanta first, more cities next.

No horoscope loop

Vibe first. Jathakam only if you both want it later.

No visa questions

OPT, CPT, H-1B, citizen, whatever. We never ask, we never filter. Show up as you are.

Nothing virtual

No app, no chat, no video. Real rooms, real coffee, real people.

Safety

Gold flags only.

ID verified

Every member is checked against a government ID, LinkedIn and a work email before the first meetup.

Hosted rooms

Two trained hosts at every meetup, one woman and one man. They run the games and the room.

You control contact

Nothing is shared until both of you say yes. Your photo and socials are never shown to members.

Zero ghosting

Every meetup closes with a polite round of yes or no. Nobody is left waiting on a read receipt.

Questions

Things Amma will ask.

Is this a dating app?

No. There is no app, no swiping and no chat. You apply, we verify you, you come to a hosted meetup, and contacts are shared only on a mutual yes.

Do parents get involved?

Only when both of you ask. We run a separate family info session, and we help with the first family introduction when you are ready.

Do you match by horoscope?

Not to decide who you meet. If both of you want a jathagam check later, we can connect you with a priest your family trusts.

Why only South Indian?

Because a room where everyone gets the filter coffee joke is a better room. We focus so the meetups feel like home.

Which cities?

Atlanta today. Dallas, the Bay Area and New Jersey are next. Join the waitlist from the sign-up form.
